Christos Michalis is a distinguished double bass player based in Berlin, renowned for his profound musicality and effortless technical excellence.
With a career spanning multiple countries and many more genres, Christos has established himself as a go-to bass player for the discerning artist.
From starting to play Bass Guitar at age 13, he also took up Double Bass at age 15, greatly enjoying the best that each instrument has to offer. His dedication and persistence saw him quickly reach professional proficiency, which was further honed by his completion of a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance where students and teachers alike enlisted him for various gigs and recording sessions around Auckland, New Zealand.
After moving to Athens he quickly took up playing Traditional Greek music with his Father, also a musician, before moving to London and enjoying the vibrant music scene there. 2015 saw his move to Berlin, performing and recording with various artists across a wide range of genres and musical environments, from private events to packed concerts, recording studios or touring on the road, Christos feels right at home in all of them.
Currently teaching and playing in one of Berlin's premiere Jazz Trios "Two and a Half Standards", he remains open and available for new recording opportunities, live events, touring or teaching.
